Peer Review Process
Jimly Legal Yustisia (JLY) review process uses a single-blind peer review. All manuscripts submitted to the journal will undergo single-blind peer review to meet JLY criteria. The detailed manuscript submission process follows :
- Manuscript Submission (by author);
- Manuscript Check and Selection (by editor). The editor-in-chief will conduct a short review to accept or reject the manuscript depending on the suitability of the scope and focus, article guidelines, and plagiarism. Manuscripts passing this editorial review will be assigned to the editor and reviewer in charge;
- Manuscript Reviewing Process (by reviewers). Manuscripts will only enter the reviewing process after passing editorial review;
- Notification of Manuscript Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection (by editor to author based on reviewers' comments);
- Paper Revision (by author);
- Revision Submission based on Reviewer Suggestion (by author) with a similar flow in points 1;
- Notification for Acceptance (by editor). Only if the reviewers accept the manuscript and recommend it to be published;
- Galley Proof and Publishing Process.
Steps 1 to 5 are considered the first round of the peer-reviewing process. The editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers and arrives at a decision. The following are the most common decisions:
- Accepted, as it is.
- Accepted by Minor Revisions, the journal will publish the paper and asks the author to make small corrections (let authors revise with stipulated time);
- Accepted by Major Revisions, the journal will publish the paper provided the authors make the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors (let authors revise with stipulated time);
- Rejected (outright rejection), the journal will not publish or reconsider the paper even if the authors make major revisions.
